Strengthening local partners to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats
Growing Impact
New and re-emerging diseases spread quickly across the globe, resulting in outbreaks that overwhelm health systems and upend lives and economies. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Localize Global Health Security (LGHS) project works with local health actors, strengthening their capacity to support their communities as they prevent, detect and respond to emerging health threats in Africa, Asia, Europe Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Through this work we build community trust and engagement for the acceptance, uptake and sustainability of global health security interventions.
